LORDSHILL YOUTH PROJECT
ABOUT
US
Lordshill Youth Project was established in
1999 to support disengaged young people.
What we do
We act as a resource for young people living in the Lordshill area by providing advice, assistance and organising programmes of physical, educational and other activities. We aim to help young people by supporting them to develop their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as independent, mature and responsible individuals.

History
In the early years, the LYP initiative was supported by the local police, the local church and Sainsbury’s, right through to the present day, where we still work closely with these organisations.
The housing services and the City Council’s Youth Services were also supporters of the Project’s development, the latter providing the staff resource to line manage the initial programme delivery.
Following a competitive process, LYP’s service delivery has been provided by Youth Options for the last few years. This arrangement has been a very fruitful one.
Recently LYP has been awarded Lottery funding, along with a move into The Zoe Braithwaite Centre, allowing LYP to further its work with young people.
